5 EPMAG.COM | DATA-DRIVEN OIL FIELDS | JANUARY 2017 the ancillary systems that integrate all this information and make it available to engineers and technicians. Recently, ABB and Aker Solutions formed an alliance to improve subsea production. According to an April 2016 press release, the collaboration will combine ABB's technologies in subsea power and automation and Aker's subsea capa- bilities. "It will enhance how production equipment on the seafl oor is powered and controlled by applications onshore or on platforms, lowering costs and enabling economically viable production at fi elds far from existing infrastructure," the release said. ABS ABS Group offers technical inspection and verifi cation; safety, risk and compliance services; asset performance optimization; engineering; and management systems certifi cation. The company's products and services reach the marine, offshore, oil and gas, and power markets, among others. Genesis Technology Solutions Inc. (GenesisSolutions), an ABS Group subsidiary, is a specialized provider of asset opti- mization products and a fully integrated global enterprise asset management (EAM) service provider. The company's services range from EAM strategy and business process improvement to asset reliability analysis and mechanical integrity programs, to full implementation and support of all major computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and technology. ABS also provides industrial asset management, integrity engineering and reliability engineering services to the offshore market. The company's offerings include full-scale implemen- tation of integrity engineering programs and safety critical ele- ments as well as the development of accompanying maintenance performance standards. Safety and risk analysis software includes RootCause LEADER, which identifi es the root causes of any type of incident, quality impact or business loss, and THESIS, which analyzes and man- ages business hazards and risks via a graphical display of the relationship between hazards, controls, risk reduction measures and business activities. In January 2016 GenesisSolutions was awarded a contract by Golar LNG to develop an intelligent maintenance strategy for the company's new fl eet of fl oating LNG (FLNG) vessels using the GoFLNG fl oating liquefaction technology. ABS Group will assist Golar LNG with implementing the Maximo CMMS to support its asset management program. In addition, ABS Group signed an agreement in July 2016 with DroneView Technologies to deliver joint aerial wind turbine and equipment inspections utilizing sophisticated drone technology as a cost-effective solution. AVEVA AVEVA is a global provider of engineering, design and infor- mation management software that is used to design, build and maintain oil and gas projects, including FPSO vessels and oil production platforms. AVEVA's Digital Asset approach builds an integrated infor- mation framework that continuously represents the true current state of the physical asset, the company said. The technology provides deep application integration for real-time information sharing between disciplines. The framework is "open, enabling data and documents created in almost any software to be easily accessed and validated," the company's 2015 annual report stated. The technology enables users to create, share and use trusted and relevant information throughout the entire asset life cycle. AVEVA's Integrated Engineering & Design (IE&D) software is a scalable and expandable toolset that enables all the project engineering and design disciplines to collaborate effi ciently. It includes AVEVA Everything3D, which combines the latest 3-D graphics, laser-scanning and user-interface technologies with data management to deliver a comprehensive, productive and tightly integrated 3-D design solution, a press release stated. AVEVA's IE&D software integrates applications for 3-D design, schematic design, electrical and instrumentation engineering, and data management to improve project effi ciency and reduce engineering and design costs, the company said. In addition, AVEVA Marine is an integrated software suite for shipbuilders. According to the company, its integration with AVEVA's plant design software suits it for complex FPSO and fl oating LNG projects. AVEVA NET Information Management software supports the entire life cycle of oil and gas assets, from FEED through AVEVA Everything3D combines the latest 3-D graphics, laser- scanning and user-interface technologies with data management to deliver a comprehensive, productive and tightly integrated 3-D design solution.
